Documents as an MCP server

Drop in PDFs, Word files, images or notes and Bridge turns them into a hosted MCP server. Your AI can search them and read any page, and every answer says which document and page it came from.

Add your files

In the console, choose New server → Documents and drop your files in. Bridge accepts PDF, Word (.docx), PNG, JPEG, plain text and Markdown, up to 25 MB and 500 pages a file. Scans and screenshots are read as well as typed documents, and tables stay as tables. The server goes live when the first file is ready. From a terminal, files or a folder:

terminal
npx @kaiva/bridge push handbook --docs ./policies

What your AI gets

search_documentsFinds the passages that answer a question, each with its document and page. Can be limited to one document.
read_documentReads one page of a document in full, in reading order.
list_documentsLists the documents and how many pages each has.
saved searchesA search you save in the console becomes a tool of its own, optionally limited to one document.

Updating a document

Upload a file with the same name and it becomes the new version. Search keeps using the current version until the new one is fully read, then switches in one step. An update can be cancelled while it is read; the current version stays.

Limits and storage

Free includes 200 pages of documents and Pro 20,000. Bridge keeps only the text and tables it reads from your files, in your workspace, and deletes each original file once it is read. Deleting a document or its server removes everything of it.
